We’ve Moved in: We’re at the Beehive in Atlanta!

This month has been amazing and a dream come true. Just about a month ago we finally moved in to our new home - the Beehive in Atlanta. We are honored, privileged and so excited to be part of this vibrant community of talented designers, artisans and creative makers.

We applied a while ago and didn’t think it would happen. It had been months. So when we received the email to schedule our interview and product showing, we were just ecstatic. It was great fun to share our collection and decide which products to prioritize.

We selected some of our signature pieces like our magnificent Lucy Necklace but also easy to wear necklaces in pretty summer colors.

We also selected some of our pretty dangling earrings, but also the funky quilled paper earrings that really make a statement. To round it off, we also selected the African print fabric wallets and shopping bags. 

Now we wait a bit to see if we made the right selections. Summer isn't the busiest season for shopping, but we think many of our pieces are perfect for summer weather as they are colorful, bright, easy to wear, light and perfect to take with on vacation. 

On our moving in date one of my sons and a great friend helped me get everything to the store and set it up. With a broken arm still in a brace, I needed all the help I could get. And, of course all the inventory would be logged into the computer system and tagged. So grateful for all the help, support and enthusiasm. It took nearly all day! And, Tugende Design is really about a village of doers willing to support us, so we can support 5 communities in Uganda.
