Paperbeads + African Print= Unique, gorgeous necklaces
We are working with Grace, one of the women we support, to design some really unique necklaces. The goal is to integrate paper beads and African print (ankara/kitenge) and make some real statement necklaces. We have some gorgeous necklaces that apply this design concept already (check out Sanyu). But, am expanding on this idea to develop other designs. This new one I am trying, is really interesting. It has several strands of narrow, beautiful paper beads that transitions into fabric ribbons to be tied behind the neck. The color combination is eclectic, unexpected but yet sophisticated.
Anyone who knows me, know that I love fabric. Seriously, I love colorful, bold fabrics. A few years ago I pretty much always wore grey, dark suits all the time with a few accessories and expensive jewelry (gold and diamonds). But, then I transformed my life into a more colorful, happy, self-empowered, free life. I still work hard, but I do it wearing brighter, happier colors. And, I don’t think jewelry should be a reflection of financial status, it should reflect personality, mood and communicate ones soul. So at this point in my life, I want bright, colorful necklaces that reflect happiness, inspiration, independence, strength and community engagement. Let us know what you think of our new designs and that our jewelry can bring a smile to you!
