We named these handmade and fair trade multi strand necklaces Mwala (meaning river) as they are smooth flowing and dangling. They were also made by our talented team of artisans in Jinja, by the beautiful river Nile.
These necklaces are smooth flowing and have dangling strands of paper beads as they are strung on a thread in a classic multi-strand design (with 5 strands). The paper beads have been varnished 5 times so will be very durable.
The colors are delicious and easy to wear. Each necklace is monochromatic but have streaks and patterns visible from the magazine paper used to make the paper beads. Select red or blue.
Each strand has paper beads and seed beads. The length of the necklace is just about 12 inches long. The section of paperbeads is about 14 inchesnonneach strand. There is a push/button clasp in the back.
The red necklace has multiple red colors ranging from pink to burgundy with some mauve in betwee. It has silver tone seed beads and a bronze tone clasp.
The blue necklace has multiple blue colors from a bright to denim blue with some turquoise. It has pewter tone seed beads and a silver tone clasp.
Easy to wear, always fashionable and fun. Each sale support our women empowerment initiatives in Uganda. No two necklaces are exactly the same. These are handmade by our talented and hard-working team in Jinja, Uganda.
