These cute and fun three-strand necklaces are a bit whimsical, made from recycled book pages and magazine paper. Each necklace has three strands of delicately rolled paperbeads.
We named these "Afiya" which means health in Luganda, a local language in Uganda. Many of the beads in these necklaces are made from recycled old, outdated, medical text books (beads with visible text). They are really darling and will go so well with any of your jean jackets, tops and jeans (and really anything).
And, they make a statement about recycling paper. So a great gift for those advocating for recyling and environmental causes. Or a great gift for those in the medical field. The beads are so narrow, you can’t really read more than a word here and there. But, still super cool!
These are quite unusual as they are made from paper beads in different shapes. Each paper bead is rolled tightly and then varnished 5 times for durability. There are flat long beads that are just over an inch. And, there are smaller bicone shaped beads in lots of different colors.
Lengths are about 11-12 inches.
The seed beeds in between the paper beads and around the neck are dark pewter tone.
Pick from 3 color variations. The three options are nearly identical except for the color of some of the longer beads. Select Lavender, Green or Orange (see pictures).
