We named these handmade and fair trade necklaces Safi (meaning market) as we were inspired by a the bright colors at a local craft market in Uganda and asked the artisan team to make us a pretty layered design and in bright colors.
They are smooth flowing and have dangling strands of paper beads as they are strung on a thread in an unusual layered, multi-strand design with 9 layers. The colors are delicious and easy to wear.
Each necklace is monochromatic but have streaks and patterns visible from the magazine paper used to make the paper beads. Select red, blue or yellow.
Each strand has paper beads and gold/bronze tone seed beads.
The length of the necklace is just about 12 inches.
There is a gold tone push/button clasp in the back.
Easy to wear, always fashionable and fun. Each sale support our women empowerment initiatives in Uganda. No two necklaces are exactly the same. These are handmade by our talented and hard-working team in Jinja, Uganda.
