We named this necklace Mukwano (which means friend in Luganda). These are made from a single strand of beads made of magazine paper which have been tightly rolled and varnished for durability by our creative ladies in the slums of Kampala.
This necklace, a limited edition, has beads in rich colors with gorgeous light blues and aqua, but also black prevalently featured with stripes of white, cream, browns, and dark reds. We named it aqua because it has several smaller beads in between the larger beads in bright aqua and turqouise colors. They really stand out if you wear a solid color shirt or dress. But they also surprisingly blend with lots of patterns. I get so many compliments! And, they are a great conversation piece and gift as well.
No two necklaces are the same! These are truly gorgeous, unique and made by one of our hard-working artisans in the slums of Kampala, Uganda.
