We named these Asatu, meaning #30 in Luganda, because they have 30 beautiful beads in gorgeous purple (the color of the year). (There is a pink version with the same name). These are really pretty and unusual bib necklaces. The necklace are made of gold/copper tone seed beads, but the main feauture of this necklace are the 30 "oval" shaped paper beads that make it a ”bib” design necklace (measuring just about 8 inches at widest part if layed flat).
These paper beads are made of tightly rolled magazine paper that have been varnished for durability. These beads are primarily purple with some white orange, green and black colors.
There is a silver-tone clasp in the back.
The seed beads are gold/copper tone.
The length of the necklace is just about 9.5 inches.
Please note that no two necklaces are exactly the same as they are handmade by our talented and hard-working women in the slums of Kampala.
