We named these Mazzi, meaning water in Luganda, because of their blue and turquoise colored beads. These are really pretty and very unusual bib necklaces. The necklace are made of black seed beads, but the main feauture of this necklace are the 35 cone shaped paper beads that make a "fan" or ”bib” at the center of the necklace (measuring just about 5.5 inches at widest part).
These cone-shaped paper beads are made of tightly rolled magazine paper that have been varnished for durability. These beads have a silver metallic finish and reflect primarily blue and turqoise colors.
There is a silver-tone clasp in the back.
The seed beads are black.
The length of the necklace is just over 10 inches.
No two necklaces are exactly the same. These are handmade by our talented and hard-working women in the slums of Kampala, Uganda.
